The 2026 Grammys had a little bit of everything, but the most interesting moments happened away from the predictable pop hits. In rock, metal, and alternative, there was real movement, with artists who’ve been around a long time standing alongside those shaking up the scene.

Turnstile really stood out, winning Best Rock Album for Never Enough and Best Metal Performance for “Birds.” They also got nominations across rock, metal, and alternative in the same year, which had never happened before. They went up against big names like Deftones, Linkin Park, HAIM, and Yungblud. They’re not new, but 2026 made it clear nobody can ignore them anymore.

Yungblud left the night stronger too, winning Best Rock Performance for “Changes,” recorded at Ozzy Osbourne’s final UK show. He accepted the award with Sharon Osbourne and turned it into a tribute to Ozzy’s influence rather than a personal win.

In alternative music, The Cure finally got the recognition they deserved. “Alone” won Best Alternative Music Performance and Songs of a Lost World took Best Alternative Album, marking their first Grammys in nearly 50 years. The band wasn’t at the ceremony because they were at the funeral of Perry Bamonte, a longtime member who had recently passed. Robert Smith sent a short, sober speech that was read by another artist, making the wins feel like historical justice instead of hype.

A standout moment came during the tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, led by Post Malone with Chad Smith, Slash, Andrew Watt, and Duff McKagan. The performance felt heartfelt and honest rather than flashy, and the Osbourne family was clearly moved.

Still, the night left a bittersweet feeling. Rock and alternative categories were presented off-air, showing how the Academy sidelines these genres compared to pop and urban music. The Cure’s wins highlighted prestige and legacy over trends, quietly and almost apologetically. The 2026 Grammys didn’t change the system, but they reminded everyone that rock and alternative are respected while still being pushed to the margins, and for some of us, that feels personal.

There was a time when breast cancer awareness was everywhere, thanks to activists like Charlotte Haley, who in the 1990s introduced the iconic Pink Ribbon to bring visibility to the disease and put pressure on governments and communities. Since then, because people spoke up, major advances have been made in early detection and treatment, saving lives and improving the quality of care.

Although breast cancer is no longer in the headlines as it was decades ago, it remains the most common cancer among women, with an average age of diagnosis of 62 years and millions of cases each year. Awareness cannot disappear, and we have not forgotten them.

That’s why we have partnered with Keep A Breast Foundation, an organization that has been breaking taboos and promoting action since 2000. To commemorate the participation in Jera On Air, we designed a special edition pair of socks exclusively available at the festival. These socks encapsulate the spirit of Jera On Air with a design that echoes the festival’s edgy and vibrant atmosphere.

Limited in quantity, these exclusive socks are not just a stylish accessory but also a collector’s item. The design process involved close collaboration with the festival organizers to ensure the socks reflect the essence of Jera On Air, making them a perfect memento for fans

Hay huellas que no se ven, pero están ahí.

En Barcelona, cada día miles de pasos cruzan las calles. Algunos corren hacia el trabajo, otros pasean sin prisa, otros simplemente buscan un lugar donde descansar. Pero entre todos esos pasos hay unos que casi nadie se para a mirar: los de las más de 1.300 personas que viven en la calle.

Ellas también dejan huellas. Huellas que recorren kilómetros buscando abrigo, un baño, una comida caliente. Huellas que resisten el frío y el cansancio. Huellas invisibles que merecen ser vistas.

De ahí nace Pisadas Visibles, una iniciativa que transforma un gesto cotidiano como ponerse un par de calcetines en un acto de empatía. Un proyecto que une a ROSAPARKS (consultora creativa especializada en impacto social), Arrels Fundació (que desde 1987 acompaña a personas sin hogar en Barcelona), el ilustrador Javirroyo y nosotros, American Socks, con una idea sencilla pero poderosa: visibilizar el sinhogarismo a través del diseño y la solidaridad.

Un proyecto que camina con propósito

La idea surgió durante un encuentro creativo impulsado por ROSAPARKS, donde distintas ONG y mentes creativas se reunieron para buscar nuevas formas de comunicar causas sociales. De esa conexión nació la semilla de lo que hoy es “Pisadas Visibles”: unos calcetines que no sólo abrigan, sino que dejan ver lo que a menudo ignoramos y que ya están disponibles en la tienda de Arrels (C/ Ample 3, Barcelona). 

Desde American Socks, pusimos lo que mejor sabemos hacer: fabricar calcetines con alma urbana, sostenibles y cargados de mensaje. Donamos 300 pares para su venta a través de Arrels y producimos 200 más que se distribuirán por nuestros canales. La recaudación se destinará íntegramente a los programas de la fundación.

Porque cada paso, por pequeño que parezca, puede acercarnos a una ciudad más justa, más consciente, más humana.

Calcetines que abrigan, sostienen y acompañan

Puede sonar simple, pero un calcetín puede significar mucho más de lo que imaginamos.

Para quienes viven en la calle, un par de calcetines limpios puede marcar la diferencia entre resistir o enfermar. Es una barrera contra el frío, una protección frente al asfalto, un gesto de cuidado.

Nos gusta pensar que, de alguna forma, un calcetín también es una pequeña casa. Envuelve, protege y da calor. Es el abrigo mínimo que acompaña los pasos cuando no hay techo. Y más allá de lo físico, simboliza algo más profundo: el soporte. Los calcetines están hechos para sostener los pies, para amortiguar el camino. En este proyecto, se convierten en un soporte simbólico para quienes caminan sin rumbo fijo.

Como dice Javirroyo, su ilustrador:

“Los calcetines son la segunda piel de quienes viven en la calle”.

Su diseño, con líneas simples pero llenas de significado, refleja esa mezcla de resistencia y vulnerabilidad. Para nosotros en American Socks, colaborar en esta iniciativa no es solo una cuestión de diseño o producción; es una forma de usar lo que amamos para dar un paso real hacia el cambio.

Cuando el diseño se convierte en activismo

En American Socks creemos que la creatividad puede mover montañas… o al menos, mover conciencias.

Nuestra esencia siempre ha estado ligada a la calle: a la libertad, la expresión y el movimiento. Pero esta vez, esas mismas calles nos recuerdan otra cara: la de quienes las habitan sin elección.

“Pisadas Visibles” convierte el diseño en un lenguaje universal. Un par de calcetines puede ser una prenda, sí, pero también una declaración: la de no mirar hacia otro lado, la de entender que cada paso cuenta, incluso los que damos para acercarnos a otros.

Cada persona que compra un par de estos calcetines está ayudando a financiar programas reales de alojamiento, atención social y acompañamiento. Es una forma sencilla, pero poderosa, de caminar juntos.

Ver las huellas que otros no ven

Esta campaña no se trata de mirar hacia abajo, sino de mirar con empatía. Porque detrás de cada pisada hay una historia, y detrás de cada par de calcetines, una oportunidad de cambiar algo.

Every trip we take turns into a bit of a walking disaster, and Warped Tour this year was exactly that in the best possible way. 

We landed in Florida, grabbed our rental car, and the first thing we did was stop at a gas station to buy nostalgic gas station snacks we used to eat years ago. With the car full of chips, candy, and way too many sodas, we drove straight to Orlando listening to loud punk-rock playlists and the AC fighting for its life. 

As soon as we reached the festival, we headed straight to the massive inflatable board where they show the lineup for the day. If you’ve been to Warped Tour, you know it’s huge and everyone crowds around it to see who plays when. We checked the bands we wanted to watch and then walked to the first stages.

We met up with our videomaker there and got ready to start one of our favorite things to do at festivals: give away socks. No plan, no script, just surprising people and seeing their reactions. People at Warped Tour never disappoint. One girl literally ran up to us asking where she could get the socks, completely out of breath. When we handed her a pair, she just stood there in shock. That moment alone made the whole trip worth it.

We didn’t stop with fans, we gave socks to bands too. Musicians, crew members, merch teams… everyone needs fresh socks when on tour, right?. Some put them on right away, some laughed, and others asked us where they could grab more. It felt good to spread that energy around and connecting with bands like 408, A Day to Remember, Less Than Jake, As It Is and Comeback Kid.

We also visited our friends at Keep A Breast Foundation. We filmed a small video with them for a special collaboration we’re doing together: a solidarity sock to support breast cancer awareness. It’s a project that means a lot to us, which we'll shortly announce on all our social media so you can become a part of the "I <3 boobies" team.

Later, we went around the vendor area which was crowded with vendors and met our friend Vinnie from Borndead Clothing. It had been a long time since we’d seen them, and catching up was amazing, like no time had passed. They’re still one of the realest and coolest brands out there. What we realized is that ones lead others follow. We have been connected to the music scene for more than 12 years, building friendships, going to music festivals and we've always been the first sock brand to do that. We crammed the van full of boxes, coffee, and a questionable amount of gas station snacks, then hit the road to Pittsburgh for the Four Chord Music Festival. At some point someone swore they saw a raccoon riding shotgun in a passing truck, and honestly, by hour six of the drive, we weren’t even surprised. That’s how road trips to festivals go: a mix of exhaustion, inside jokes, and the kind of chaos you can’t plan for.

Four Chord has always been about pop punk, emo, and alternative music, and this year’s lineup was unreal. blink-182, AFI, Jimmy Eat World, Jawbreaker, Hot Mulligan, Bowling for Soup—basically a playlist of every band we ever had burned onto a scratched CD in the early 2000s. Just reading the flyer felt like a time machine.

When we finally got to the football field where the fest happens, it was madness. Vans unloading, gear everywhere, vendors yelling for duct tape. We set up our booth in the middle of it all, banners flying, socks stacked, and the exclusive American Socks x Four Chord collab front and center. Before long, people were streaming in. Some made a beeline for the collab pair, others just wandered up curious about why socks were getting so much attention at a punk festival in Pittsburgh. But that’s the thing—our socks have always been part of the lifestyle, and seeing people leave with them (grinning and holding them up like trophies) felt right.

The scene around us was just as fun. Dixon Flannel and Borndead were close by, so between waves of people we hung out, cracked jokes, and shared snacks like it was a family reunion. Someone even tried to trade a hot dog for a pair of socks. Not gonna lie, we thought about it.

And of course, we couldn’t just stay stuck at the booth. AFI had everyone swaying in darker vibes, Jimmy Eat World turned the entire field into one giant singalong, and when blink-182 closed the night, it was pure chaos. Fireworks exploding, strangers screaming “All The Small Things” into each other’s faces, one guy crowd-surfing with a pizza box. No idea how he pulled that off.

Back at our booth, we kept things wacky with giveaways. Our “hide and sock” game had people hunting around EQT Park like it was punk rock Pokémon Go. Toss a pair into the crowd, hide one near the bleachers, suddenly there’s a swarm of fans laughing, snapping selfies, and walking away with free socks. It made our little corner of the festival feel like its own side show.

By the end of it all, we were wiped out, voices hoarse, ears still ringing. Packing up felt like playing Tetris with boxes and leftover snacks, but we managed. The van ride back was a blur of bad singing, festival stories, and brainstorming where to take the American Socks tour next.

Four Chord Festival reminded us why this scene matters. Music, chaos, community, and yeah—punk rock socks right in the middle of it. We left tired but stoked, and ready for whatever comes next. Thanks 4 Chord, that was a truly amazing experience!
